IPL / VPL Skin Rejuvenation

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology is a gentle, non-ablative treatment which uses visible light spectrum emitted as an intense pulsing light which can be utilized for various skin treatments. Aging skin is something which everyone is concerned about and an ever-increasing number of people are interested in improving their appearance. IPL treatments can be used to help restore the skin's youthful appearance resulting in a much younger and clearer skin.

IPL Zigma

IPL treatment improves the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called photorejuvenation for face and body. The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.

At S.P.Derma Center we use Zigma IPL imported from Korea (Seoul) which has 410nm, 510nm, 560nm, 585nm, 640nm, 755nm filters which can be applied for various skin conditions.

How does it feel during the treatment

IPL treatment does cause some discomfort during treatment, it feels like sharp heat but not painful. Most patients describe the discomfort as moderate and acceptable.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Most of the IPL treatments does not cause any side effects. When treating Hemagiomas it can cause epidermal damage which can be treated easily with epidermal growth factor. Redness and swelling may occur, similar to sunburn. This settles within a few minutes. The treated area should not be exposed to strong sunlight between treatments, use of Sunscreen (SPF 30 and above) is advised.

How many treatments are necessary?

Most treatments require 3 to 8 sessions at fortnight or monthly intervals depending on the skin condition being treated.

Side effects?

The skin can become red immediately after treatment. Scabbing and pigemntation are common which can be treated in few days. No permanent side effect is seen.

Time taken for each treatment?

Treatment can take from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on which area is being treated.
